Position: Manufacturing Engineer


Reports To:
Engineering Manager


Job Hours:

  • 7:00am-3:30pm shift, Mon-Fri
  • Flexible to work extended hours as needed


Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer plans the manufacturing process for work orders by determining the routing, materials, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Their duties include developing shop travelers, internal drawings, and verifying the manufacturing processes are in compliance with the required industry standards and specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review products for compliance with the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) requirements
  • Determine the manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of products
  • Apply agile methodology to shorten cycle time and achieve target margins
  • Perform concurrent design and manufacturing engineering to reduce production lead times
  • Manage manufacturing projects to support engineering metrics
  • Collaborate with the continuous improvement team to help streamline manufacturing processes
  • Design and build process tooling and fixtures
  • Work closely with mentors in problem solving and help new team members develop their professional talent
  • Adhere to high levels of safety by following company safety policies and regulations to prevent injuries


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Technically inclined with the ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Interpretation and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Attention to detail and time management skills
  • Computer knowledge – SolidWorks, Microsoft Office


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or related field required
  • 1-3 years working as an engineer in a manufacturing plant required
  • Applicants must be proven competent at analyzing and developing manufacturing processes in order to promote into this position
  • Experience with 3D modeling software required; SolidWorks preferred


Accountabilities:

  • Meet the department goals and metrics
  • Achieve deadlines (engineering, planning, reporting)
  • Achieve required quotas for projects and orders


Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally be required to push, pull and move objects up to 30 pounds
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk


Work Environment:

  • Office environment
  • The noise level in the work environment may be moderately loud
  • Willingness to travel 0-5%
